The tourism zone, where hotels think Costco or the Apple concentrated, is outside the main days Cancun was the place burger on the other. It is easy for a downtown Cancun to experience the the ease of exploring, smaller neighborhoods and markets.
In some ways we are comparing apples and oranges � city verses region � but Cancun and the Riviera Maya are compared all the time, if not thought to be the same. You may never want to leave! We also appreciate the benefits of Cancun. The region was once inhabited by the ancient Maya civilization, who left behind remarkable archaeological sites like Tulum, Coba, and Chichen Itza. This makes for a large separation between the tourist experience and the local experience when you visit Cancun.
